Introduction to Institute of Wastewater Management and Water Protection
The Institute of Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Management is a research team of about 20 people, mostly academics. Their research interest is directed towards highly efficient soultions that preferably produce reusable material rather than waste. The focus is both on municipal and industrial wastewaters with a view on the whole process and mass flows.

The university of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, know too by its acronym “BOKU”, now comprises 13 departaments and four centres in Vienna. The courses are organised around the main teaching and research disciplines of BOKU- sustainable use of naturally growing raw materials both for energy supply as well for innovative materials, protecting regenerable sources such water, soil and atmosphere, protecting and shaping biotopes and enviroments.
